Meet Cynthia…

A tireless advocate for her community, Cynthia dedicates countless hours as a trustee of the board of education for Valley Stream District 24, addressing constituent needs, championing educational initiatives, and working to create positive change.

As a Trustee..

Cynthia worked collaboratively with trustees and officials across the political spectrum to successfully advocate for and implement the CEP (Community Eligibility Program), ensuring all students have access to free nutritious meals regardless of their family's economic status. As the Chair of the Legislative Committee, Cynthia continues to work in this role - advocating diligently for students and liaising with government officials from both sides of the aisle.

As the daughter…

Of Dominican and Puerto Rican parents, Cynthia is proud to be a first-generation American whose heritage has shaped her values, work ethic, and commitment to service. Growing up in a multicultural household gave her a deep appreciation for diversity and the strength of community. She brings that perspective to every decision, working to ensure that all voices — regardless of background — are heard and represented in local government.

A proud mom...

Of two children, Sarah and Kendall Jr. with her husband Kendall Sr. When her younger son wasn’t receiving the same educational programs her daughter once had, she refused to stay silent. Driven by her belief that every child deserves equal opportunities, Cynthia stepped up and ran for the Valley Stream District 24 School Board. Her experience as a mother continues to guide her decisions, ensuring that families and students have a strong voice in local education.
